Boroughmuir Rugby and Community Sports Club has been a registered sports charity for 13 years with the purpose of, “Improving the lives of the people living in this community through the provision of sporting and recreational activities”

 

Principle Objectives:

 

• Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Edinburgh and various environs (the “Community”) without distinction of gender, sexuality, political and religious or other opinions by providing facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved

• Promote for the benefit of members of the Community, community participation in healthy recreation by the provision and management of community facilities for playing sports

Our vision is to play a key role in providing the best facilities, friendliest and most inclusive sports hub in Edinburgh, one that motivates and inspires everyone to become more active. 

 

Our Café is open seven days a week for our local community and attracts many sports clubs; Hockey, Cricket, Rowing, Kayaking, Netball, Football, American Football, CrossFit gym and of course Rugby.

 

Boroughmuir Youth Academy 

 

Currently we have 430 youth members, both boys and girls, from P1 up to U18s. Since season 2017/18, we have had 600 individual players involved within the youth section, many of whom are still coming through the age groups. Already 1% of those players have achieved a pro rugby or senior academy contract.  

 

At the last count, the Academy has over 80 qualified coaches and over 110 volunteers in total, who all give up hours of their time on a weekly basis to support the club’s vision and provide rugby to our community.

 

We aim to continue offering a community rugby experience for a growing number of boys and girls, enhance our pathway program, invest in increasing the number of match officials coming through the club, and to continue in developing inclusive opportunities for all kids, no matter their background or status.
